Is Adobe a goner?
or maybe it's better to pursue better opportunities. Then again, premium digital content and branding, and desktop design will not vanish I don't think. But more dollars are going to digital-first ads. (Those still produced by Adobe, I think.)
Compare with Coke. Coffee drinking going down and global soda consumption going up. What goes up and is durable?
People don't want to consume tokens, they want a product. So pressure to reduce cost of tokens will continue to go down. All sorts of engineering effort will go toward reducing this cost.
Tokens are a means to end. Bits are a means to an end. Electricity is a means to end. To see, to ease, to save time, to run appliance. Adobe is not consumer software. Consumers don't want images. Let Google have image generation for fun. Adobe wants consumers to generate for fun. Why? Because they're going to convert to editors? I don't know about that.
What companies want is services and tools but want they really want is to please customers. Customers don't want tokens. They want: time, status, ease/comfort, entertainment/relax and dollar savings.
